Bruno M. introduces “On My Own”, one of the central tracks from his first solo album, Deep and Eternal - a fifteen-song journey through memory, anxiety, identity, isolation and the most private corners of the human psyche. Built around Bruno’s deep baritone voice and a dark, cinematic atmosphere, “On My Own” transforms alienation into a declaration of independence. The song looks at crowded rooms, social masks, empty ambitions and the pressure to follow paths that never truly feel like home. Rather than presenting solitude as defeat, Bruno turns it into an act of self-preservation: the decision to step outside other people’s expectations and remain faithful to one’s own identity. The lyrics move through images of “smiling masks”, “paper thrones” and people chasing success while becoming emotionally colder. Against that world, the recurring idea of being “better on my own” becomes less a rejection of others than a refusal to participate in relationships, roles and values that feel artificial. That perspective reflects the wider concept behind Deep and Eternal. After more than twenty-five years performing in bands and more than a thousand live appearances, Bruno M. chose to begin a new chapter as a solo artist. The album is deliberately personal: fifteen songs in which he exposes fears, memories, contradictions, emotional wounds and reflections that had previously remained private. Musically, “On My Own” sits at the more immediate and dynamic side of the record while retaining its darkwave, gothic rock and post-punk character. Its atmosphere balances melancholy and determination, giving the track the dual role of an accessible introduction to the album and a concise statement of Bruno M.’s new artistic identity. Sometimes the harsh realities of life leave us no chance to remain within the framework of fair interpersonal understanding and seem to push us to seek our own psychological balance. Perhaps even unconsciously, we begin to imagine worlds where everything is always good, safe, and peaceful. And we don't forget about those we love. This is precisely what the song My Painted World is about...
