Second album by post new romantic act The Livelong June
A portion of mental illness, being your own worst enemy, alienation and love.
A post new-romantic sound to introversion and self-criticism
Friday, August 19 marks a very special release. The release of the first single of The Livelong June’s second album. Lyric-wise the single is a logic step from where the debut ‘The Art of Living’ took off. Musically you will find a slicker sound, still with that special take the audience have proven to love.
The song ‘Not so good at being me’ dwells upon the struggles of being the best of you. It’s a product of depressive thoughts, self-criticism, and sadness. The sadness of not being able – capable – of being the best of yourself. The one you are meant to be and the one you know you are.
To balance things up, it’s yet another catchy electronic tune from the Sweden based duo. You’ll find musical influences from the 80s new romantic scene as well as the 90s alternative scene, blended with Scandinavian melancholy.

The Livelong June signs deal with Russian ScentAir Records
Swedish, The Livelong June, who makes gritty electronic pop with intelligent and ambigious lyrics are now contracted for Russian indiependent record label ScentAir Records, based in Moscow.
- We have been in contact with the label for some time to mutually plan for our debut album, says Marcus Rejnevik, The Livelong June. Now, me and Benny Gustavsson, the other half of the band, have signed a deal for a single and an album, which will be release during first half of 2018.
The Livelong June has so far released two singles on their own label, been aired on indiependent radio stations on all continents, not the least in Germany, the UK, Russia and the USA. The band has also been voted artist of the month twice on Berlin based Liquid Radio and have won prizes for their music videos.
- I’m happy to have The Livelong June on the label, says Vladimir Romanov, CEO at ScentAir Records. They have an exciting sound with retro flirts that still sound contemporary. On top of that they are interesting since the lyrics play such a vital role in their music.

Single release on the subject of friendship is the first release on new label:
The Livelong June releases most important single so far
The third single, called ‘Friends’ by The Livelong June makes up for an important release for the band. Firstly, it deals with the issues of friendship and supportiveness, secondly it is their first release on ScentAir Records.
The Livelong June recently signed with well renowned Russian indiependent electronic label ScentAir Records for a full-length album. The band’s third single is the first song to be released in this alliance. To further establish the band’s focus on intelligent, meaningful lyrics they release the thought-provoking song ‘Friends’.
‘Friends’ is about the friendship relations you are part of, placed in or gain in your life. It’s about sound friendship. What it should be like, and what you should do when it doesn’t give you strength, energy, confidence or safety anymore. In this song we once again share insights that have formed who we are and made it clear what we stand for, says Marcus Rejnevik, The Livelong June.
‘Friends’ is one very catchy song from the upcoming album. It’s melodic upbeat take on vintage soundscapes makes for one of our most interesting releases, says Vladimir Romanov, ScentAir Records.
The single is backed up with a hard dance oriented remix by EBM veterans Tolchock.
