LIFE ON EARTH is the first full length solo studio album from Irish electronica pioneer PAUL QUIN, who has been making music since 1989.
This album was lovingly crafted over three years (and during a Pandemic) and is now available for the first time as a worldwide release through Paul Quin's dear friends, the legendary Moscow based ScentAir Records.
ScentAir released a trio of singles from this album throughout 2021/2022.
'A Better Place', 'Be Yourself Girl' and 'Everything I Loved I Lost ( That Day) all received extensive radio play in Ireland, The UK, and as far away as Iceland, Germany, Canada and the US culminating in Quin being nominated for 'Best Electro Act 2024' by the well known Wigwam Radio in the UK..
The collection of songs which form the LIFE ON EARTH album tell stories from our lives lived every day on this planet.
Sometimes unhappy, sad, conflicted and at other times joyful and full of hope.
Each song represents a different character going about their daily business or ruminating on the meaning of life with all it's light and darkness.
Prolific Electronic musician Aidan Casserly, a label mate at ScentAir Records and a long time friend co-wrote and co-produced this album with Quin, and what started out as a fun project at the weekend turned into a labour ot love which inspired a series of singles, music videos, press appearances and live shows culminating in a number one single on Radio Indie Alliance (Everything I Loved I Lost That Day) and an award nomination from Radio Wigwam in the UK for Paul Quin in recognition of his unique contribution to EDM and Synthwave music in the Best Electro Artist 2024 category.
Paul Quin has been hailed by Irish music media as a 'pioneer of Ireland's Electropop movement' starting his career in 1983 at the tender age of 14 with schoolfriends in a band called Class Symplicity, writing and recording their own songs and performing local gigs.
Later Paul formed the synthpop duo Biazarre with the late John Butler and released a critically acclaimed first vinyl single 'A Better Place' which is re-imagined for 2024 on his debut solo album Life On Earth (ScentAir Records).
The single received huge critical acclaim and was a mainstream radio hit here in Ireland at the start of the 1990's.
Quin moved into acting briefly with a walk on role in Alan Parker's blockbuster music film 'The Commitments' and went back to college to study performing arts before releasing his fitst EP 'Goodbye To Mandalay' under the moniker Oz on the first online digital label Peoplesound.com in 2000. This record included writing collaborations with Paul's close friend and sometime writing partner Aidan Casserley (House Of Analogue, Sebastian and the dream).
A second EP of original material followed in the mid 200s under the artist name PFQ with the critically well received collection 'Future Songs' which included radio hit 'Like A Laserbeam' and was self released by Quin on all digital platforms.
Fast forward to 2021 when Quin returned to music after a long hiatus releasing a series of radio hit singles through his friend Vladimir Romanov and his Scent Air Records label. A series of music videos also appeared and received extensive coverage from both radio and print media in Ireland, as well as clocking up regular airplay on radio in the US, Germany, Denmark, and Canada.
This led to Quin being nominated for Electro Artist Of The Year 2024 by WigWam Radio in the UK at the end of 2023.
Together with Scent Air Records, Paul Quin now gets a worldwide release of his debut album 'Life On Earth'. The album, written and co-produced with Casserley and other mudical friends was lovingly crafted over
the Pandemic period and beyond. .
It was performed in full with a showstopping gig at Dublin's Pepper Cannister Church and a series of headline gigs in Dublin featuring a full live band.
As of 2024 Paul Quin is working on a new record with UK production legend Mark Saunders (Bowie, Human Leage, Erasure, Tricky, Cyndi Lauper) with a new single lined up for the Summer.
